The Pennsylvania Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust is pleased to report its approval of 350 programs aimed at combatting opioid addiction, which programs reflect over $50.9 million in funds spent or committed by Counties across the Commonwealth.
The Pennsylvania Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust is pleased to announce that counties, District Attorneys and subdivisions (e.g., townships, cities, and boroughs) across the Commonwealth have self-reported spending and committing over $70 million on a wide-range of programs to combat the opioid epidemic. The breath of services and programs offered by entities across Pennsylvania demonstrate a commitment to battling opioid misuse and addiction abatement across its lifecycle, from programs focused on expectant mothers and infants to programs aimed at supporting people in treatment and recovery.
The Pennsylvania Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust is pleased to report that, based on preliminary estimates, Pennsylvania counties and subdivisions reporting so far have already spent or committed more than $70 million distributed by the Trust to address opioid remediation. These preliminary calculations are based on the first annual reports from recipients of such funds, including all 67 counties and many subdivisions across the Commonwealth.
