Created by an Order of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania on July 12, 2022, the Trust is responsible for distributing funds from national opioid settlements secured by the changes.
These funds are allocated to the Commonwealth, Counties, and Litigating Subdivisions to support programs that combat the opioid crisis across Pennsylvania.
Together, we're working to save lives and support recovery.
The Trust is governed by a thirteen-member Board of Trustees, including:
- A chairperson appointed by the Governor
- A state agency secretary appointed by the Governor
- Four representatives from the Pennsylvania General Assembly
- Five regional representatives selected by the Counties
- A representative from Allegheny County
Participating Subdivisions are required to submit reports on remediation programs funded by opioid settlement funds to the Trust twice annually, in March and September.
The Trust reviews all expenditures of opioid settlement funds by Participating Subdivisions for compliance with the national opioid settlements, including Exhibit E.
